Projects
Check out some of my projects below to view the wide range of my content creation,
from formal policy memos to everyday social media posts.
"Walls Don’t Work:
How the Capitol Insurrection Confirmed Our Trump-Era Approach to Immigration Policy Was All Wrong"
sole writer, editor, and designer
This op-ed article demonstrates my ability to write concisely, edit accurately, and design effectively. I carried this project through every composition phase: researching, writing, editing, and designing in InDesign. Perhaps most importantly, conveying a strong opinion stance that is based in fact and avoids extreme partisan bias. I am skilled in writing and creating content that discusses polarizing, critical issues; you can count on me to compose content that uses facts in order to appeal to and influence a bipartisan audience, as shown through this article. My language frames an issue that many Americans on the right disagree with--implementing a pathway to citizenship--in a way that does not insult or alienate those with conservative ideologies. In fact, I am careful to appeal particularly to those individuals. Further, this article exhibits my aptitude for writing and creating various communication-based artifacts that effectively make positive, democratic change in America.
"The Case for Automatic Voter Registration"

This policy memo demonstrates my proficiency in research and formal writing. It also highlights my ability to ardently argue an opinion with a strong basis in facts and an appealing tone to individuals of any ideology. This policy memo indicates that I have a strong grasp on communicating concerning political proposals and ideas. I am passionate about implementing change through the democratic process, and I believe I can enact that kind of change through content like this. I am confident in my ability to research, analyze, and write about a wide array of political and social issues, whether it be in a formal article such as a policy memo, or in an informal article or blog.

"How the Insurrection Confirmed We Need a Fresh Approach to Immigration: Implement the
US Citizenship Act of 2021"
sole writer, editor, speaker, and producer
My series of Tik Tok videos were created in accompianiment of my op-ed article (the first project featured on this page). Specifically, they take the ideas presented in my long-form article and tranform them into easy-to-digest-and-circulate 30-second videos. Each video takes a slightly different angle, all of which are featured wholly in the original article: A) the irony of the insurrection, B) why we already knew we needed immigration reform and C) why the US Citizenship Act of 2021 is the solution we've been waiting for.
Overall, composing these tik toks entailed researching, compiling content, writing persuasive and effective scripts, recording myself speaking, and editing video. All of these actions reinforced my video-making skills immensely, and furter developed my skills in creating short video specifically for social media like Tik Tok and Instagram, through IGTV and Reels. I am apt in creating not only written and image-based content, but also in composing video content; specifically, video content that influences and educates audiences, and actually makes a difference. I know what it takes to get engagement on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and the like.
"When Trump Discredits Elections, He Discredits Democracy"
and other various voting graphics
writer, editor, and designer
These Instagram graphics display my skills in creating dynamic, engaging, and visually pleasing designs for effective and successful Instagram posts. Through creating social media content like these graphics, I learned more about what makes a social media post successful--now, I am confident in my ability to create content for social media that fuels growth, engagement, and learning.
Further, the first set of Instagram graphics exhibits my skills in transforming long-form articles into concise, snappy content for social media that is more easily digestible and shared through online platforms, specifically for young people. This exhibits my ability to work with writing from other authors in order to enhance social media presence of an organization.
The second set of graphics, however, shows that I am capable of creating original content for social media, too. From research, to writing, to design, to posting, you can count on me to handle the socials.
"A Look at America and
the 14 Identifying Characteristics of Fascism"
sole researcher, writer, editor, and producer
This YouTube video points out the chilling comparisons between America under the Trump administration to each of the 14 Identifying Characteristics of Fascism identified and coined in 2003 by Lawrence Britt, a political scientist.
My intentions in creating this video were to bring to light the frightening, very real threat that fasicsm can pose in America. I also wanted to acknowledge the fact that fascist tendencies were often accepted with open arms by then-President Trump's most ardent supporters.
I used a countless number of news clips and audio of the 14 characteristics read aloud to create the entire video, which involved vast amounts of research and editing. I enjoy doing this kind of investigative editing to create content that spurs discourse and educates citizens on these important social and political issues.
Living in a democracy is something that a lot of Americans have possibly taken for granted, and In creating this video, I hoped to show how well the identifying characteristics of fascism as identfied in 2003 resonate with America today.
